Every buyer should read the cancellation terms before paying, not when they need them. Here is Syllhost's cancellation and refund policy in plain language, as published on the site's policy pages.
Immediate cancellation: a partial refund
Cancelling a service immediately refunds the unused value of the service, minus a deduction that is currently 33 percent, capped at the amount you actually paid. The refund goes to your wallet, where it can be used for other services. Example: if half of a service period remains unused, the refund is that unused half minus 33 percent of it.
End-of-term cancellation: no refund
Cancelling at the end of the term, when the service has already run its full period, carries no refund, because there is no unused value left to return. This is the normal case for a service you simply do not renew.
Unpaid orders cancel themselves
Unpaid new-order invoices auto-cancel after five days, and are then purged shortly after. If you placed an order and changed your mind before paying, it disappears on its own; no action is needed and nothing is charged.
Before you cancel, check two things
- Your data. Cancellation ends the service, so download your website files, databases and mailbox contents first.
- Your domain. A domain is separate from hosting. Cancelling hosting does not cancel the domain, and the domain keeps its own yearly cycle unless you cancel it too.
How to cancel
Use the cancellation option on your service page in the client area, or raise a support ticket if you need help with the process. For the full legal wording, see the cancellation policy page linked in the site footer. And for the price side of any decision, web hosting charges explains renewals and refunds together.
The policy is short on purpose: unused value back, minus a stated deduction, to your wallet. No surprises either way.
